Evan A.T. Hoffman, Esq


Evan A.T. Hoffman is the founding attorney of The Law Offices of Evan A.T. Hoffman. A graduate of Miami University of Ohio (B.A. in Political Science and History, 2020) and Capital University Law School (J.D., 2023), Evan has been immersed in the legal profession from an early age. Having grown up around his father’s law firm, he developed hands-on experience as a paralegal before becoming licensed to practice law in 2023.


Evan focuses his practice on estate planning, probate administration, and business law, with additional experience in rights restoration, expungement, and firearm-related trusts. He takes pride in delivering practical, efficient solutions and has worked with clients across counties spanning the entire state of Ohio.


Outside of his legal work, Evan enjoys staying active at the gym, swimming, playing sand volleyball, riding motorcycles, and spending time outdoors with friends and his dog. He is also deeply involved in the Columbus automotive scene and passionate about supporting local businesses. Practicing law alongside his father, Scott L. Hoffman, Esq., remains one of his most meaningful professional experiences.

A native of Ohio, Mr. Hoffman has represented clients throughout the globe. He has practiced law in New York, Washington, D.C. and Ohio, and has been lead counsel on energy and infrastructure finance projects, represented Fortune 500 companies in a range of financings and negotiations, served as an expert witness on finance, and advised small and large businesses on a variety of complex legal matters.


Mr. Hoffman practiced with Nixon Hargrave, Devans & Doyle, Washington D.C. (1983-1996; Partner, 1990-1996), and Evans Evans & Hoffman LLP (1996-2024). He was a member of the Syracuse Law Review, Editor, New York Survey of Law, and named a “Central Ohio’s Top Lawyer” by Columbus CEO magazine.


He is a member of the American, New York, District of Columbia and Ohio Bar Associations. 


Mr. Hoffman has served on numerous boards, including Ohio Health, Inc., Board Member (2006-2008); and Marion General Hospital, Inc., Board Chairman (2006-2008).


He has written extensively and is the author of The Law and Business of International Project Finance, Third Edition (Cambridge University Press, 2007) (ISBN: 0521882206).


Mr. Hoffman is admitted to practice law in New York (1983), the District of Columbia (1988), Ohio (1996) and is a member of the bar of the Supreme Court of the United States. He is a graduate of Syracuse University Law School, Juris Doctorate, cum laude (1982), and Getty College of Liberal Arts, Ohio Northern University, Bachelor of Arts, Political Science, with distinction (1979).


Since 1985, he has been rated AV by the Martindale-Hubbell peer review ratings, which signifies that a lawyer has been recognized by their peers for the highest level of professional excellence, encompassing both legal ability and ethical standards. This rating is the highest possible general rating a lawyer can receive through Martindale-Hubbell’s peer review process. 

Jacob Sniezek

(Paralegal)

Jacob Sniezek is a paralegal at the firm, preparing to begin his J.D. studies at Capital University Law School with the goal of pursuing a career in patent law. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Cincinnati and brings hands-on industry experience to his legal pursuits. Motivated by a desire to bridge the gap between innovation and intellectual property protection, he is now focused on leveraging his STEM background in service of inventors and creators. Outside of work, Jacob enjoys lifting weights, riding motorcycles, playing hockey, and attending NHL games.

Dylan M. Brewer

(Paralegal)

Dylan Brewer is a J.D. candidate at Capital Law School, with an expected graduation in Spring 2026. Originally from Marion, Ohio, Dylan served six years in the U.S. Navy as a Persian-Farsi linguist, developing sharp analytical skills and cross-cultural fluency. Prior to and during law school, he accumulated several years of paralegal experience at multiple firms that specialized in estate planning, probate administration, and title/deed work. 

Alyssa Nicely

Alyssa Nicely is working as a paralegal with previous experience as a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Room. She has dedicated herself to provide compassionate care to patients in critical condition, developing a strong foundation in management, decision making, and patient advocacy. While proud of her contributions to the medical field, her professional interests have evolved to the legal domain. Specifically in areas that intersect with estate planning and probate administration. Outside of Alyssa’s professional life, she is preparing to begin law school at Capital University in 2026. Her goal is to pursue a fulfilling, impactful career that blends critical thinking, advocacy, and lifelong learning.
